Spoiler alert — I like both.  BirdNET (machine learning ala Merlin) can do something no human can do when it wades through 40,000+ hours of bioacoustic audio and makes bird IDs.  But humans are great at picking up subtle situations where BirdNET’s model matching doesn’t get it right.
